how I work
When important work is not moving, the problem is rarely just the strategy. I look at what surrounds the strategy: who is involved, who is missing, how decisions are being made, where relationships are weak, what structures exist, and whether the organization has the capacity and processes required to execute.
A Four Step Process
I use a structured but flexible approach to help organizations move from complexity to clarity and from intention to action.
01
understand
Start with the goal, context, evidence, people, and realities surrounding the work.
02
Diagnose
Identiy what is preventing traction-including missing interest holders, relationships, processes, capacity, decision structures, or alignment.
03
build
Put the right relationships, processes, structures, and strategic choices in place.
04
move
Translate the work into coordinated action, clear decisions, responsibilities and next steps.
Every engagement is right-sized to the challenge.
HFS brings enough structure to move the work forward without creating unnecessary process or complexity.
